A letter from George Gegner to Lizzie Wayman, dated March 29, 1864. Gegner was stationed in Nashville, Tennessee at the time he wrote the letter. In the letter, George tells Lizzie that his Regiment marched from Louisville, Kentucky to Nashville, Tennessee and set up camp there. He tells her that he recieved her letter and wished that he was home again in her company. George tells Lizzie about the weather and talks about what life is like in camp. He also asks her to send him a new photograph of herself because the one he always carried with him was ruined in the rain. George writes that he doesnt like Nashville and hopes that the Regiment moves on soon. |
