James Mullican PapersIndiana State University ArchivesUAC 107Scope and Content: The James Mullican Papers consists of correspondence, photographs,newspaper clippings, conference programs, and pamphlets. The papers are arranged in 10separate folders by year from 1974, 1981-1989. In each of these folders correspondencebetween Mullican and his colleagues in the planning and execution of the event, photos ofsome of the speakers, news clippings (typically photocopied), as well as programs andpamphlets for the conference are contained. The correspondence is hand written and typednotes and memos between Mullican and his colleagues regarding the Annual Conference onTeaching Composition: The Reading- Writing Connection. The news clippings are typically basedon the speaker of the given year. The programs and the pamphlets show the schedule of theevents, who is speaking at the event and when, and the registration form for the event.Biographical Information: James Mullican was a Professor of English from 1959-1996 at IndianaState University.
