When the school paperis once more seen circulating in the halls of theinstitution it will not be the conventional oldAdvance, which has been printed regularlyevery month for the last twenty years, but thepaper which you will see will be in the formof a weekly newspaper. We are taking thisopportunity to tell you all about the new arrangements. Those who have already subscribed for theAdvance for the year 1914-1915 will continueto receive the weekly as they have in the pastreceived the monthly. There will be no additional charge for the weekly. The same thingmight be said to the advertisers, for there willbe no additional charge for those who havesigned year contracts. To those, however, who have thus far notsubscribed for the Advance, but who wish totake the weekly for the remainder of the current year, we wish to say that they may do soby paying the enormous sum of thirty-fivecents. (A single issue will cost five cents). There will be about fifteen issues of the weekly. The first number will be published by Marchthe ninth. It is the plan of the Advance staff to havethe weekly paper in circulation every Tuesdayat noon. In order that this may be possible itwill be necessary for all news to be written upearly on each Saturday morning. No news willbe accepted after this time.In another part of this paper you will findthe opinions of a number of alumni regardingthe change. Look at this section and see whatthey have to say.THE NORMAL-ROSE GAME.On the evening of January the twenty-second an important event happened which is tobe recorded in the permanent annals of the Indiana State Normal. The event referred to isthe basket ball game between the team of thisschool and that of the Rose Polytechnic Institute. This game marks the re-opening of ahtleticrelations between the two schools. We, of theState Normal, are glad to see that these relations can be carried on without the usual resumption of active fistic hostilities. Thesesame fistic encounters were the cause of thecessation of relations four years ago and thisgame was in a way an experiment to see if suchscraps could really be done away with. We areglad to say that the experiment was successful. There is really no reason why these gamesshould not be carried on every year, and thereare on the other hand many reasons why theyshould, chief among which is of course thatmuch more money can be made by both schools
