On thefollowing Wednesday a picnic supper was heldat the home of Miss Hilda Hathaway. Thelast event was a formal dinner at the home ofMrs. Edward Lammers, on Monday, OctoberNineteenth. The guests were seated at smalltables arranged throughout the house, and received Halloween emblems as favors. Thealumnae members were invited to all of theparties.Thirteen new members were pledged, AleenCalvert, Beatrice Kester, Mamie Lou Kester,Grace Goodman, Bernadine Good, DorothyThornton, Gertrude Haupt, Thelma Jobe, FaraSeewald, Agnes Shaley, Helen Hitch, KathrynStevenson, and Margaret Stimson.LLAMARADA.At the beginning of the Fall term there wereten Llamaradas who had returned for anotheryears work. They are, Misses GertrudeSteepleton, Grace Golay, Kathryne Nantz,Erma Brown, Edna Davis, Irene Ferguson,Daisy Shields, Harriett Woolen, Hazel Force,and Evelyn Brown. Miss Nantz was chosenleader
Miss Force, secretary, and Miss Woolen,treasurer.The Llamaradas gave a theatre party onSaturday, October 10. Their guests were,Misses Dorothy Beck, Edith Shaw, Daisy Patterson, Merl Brown and Anna Yergum.Thursday evening, October 15, Miss Nantzgave a buffet luncheon for the section at herhome at 1108 North Sixth street.MU ZETA.The Mu Zetas entertained a number offriends Saturday, Oct. 10, with a theatre party,and afterwards lunch was served in Herzs tearoom. Covers were laid for fifteen. The following Wednesday evening a pleasant eveningwas spent toasting marshmallows and wieniesover a grate at the home of Leona Caldwell.Saturday morning a dainty breakfast wasserved in the Y. W. C. A. tea room. The tablewas beautifully decorated with daisies andasparagus. The out of town guests were:Misses Gladys Rippetoe, Edith Provines andRuth Campbell of Clinton. The initiation willbe held Saturday evening at the home of MissEmma Ploberg. Arrangements have beenmade for a number of amusements and partiesto be held throughout the term.OMEGA.At the opening of school, the Omega sectionwas represented by seven of its members.Elizabeth Frendenreich, Clara Shanks, RachaelShafer, Katherine Flaherty, Helen Hinton,Mabel Seidel and Frieda Glavecke. At a business meeting held during the first week ofschool, the following officers were elected:Leader, Elizabeth Frendenreich
vice-leader,Clara Shanks
secretary, Frieda Glavecke
treasurer, Rachael Shafer, and social committee, Mabel Seidel and Katherine Flaherty.A number of delightful rush parties havebeen given by the members of the section inhonor of the new pledges. On October 10,twenty-six members, including the Alumni andpledges enjoyed a theatre party followed by aluncheon at Valentines. The followingMonday, Miss Mona Halloren entertained informally at her home. The Misses Flahertyentertained with a marshmallow roast Saturday, October 17. The three pledges are, NeliaJackson of Lebanon, Antionette Semortier ofSouth Bend, Ind., and Madge Stigler of Brazil.
