The topic chosen for the tAvelveweeks Avork is the Geography of Germany andthe folk-lore of the different sections. A regular program Avas arranged for each meetingof the term. The work started off Avith enthusiasm and a large membership. Mr. Koch,Miss Gillum, Miss Cuppy and Miss Welte havegiA^en interesting talks at the various meetings.Besides these meetings two Ausflugs havebeen planned. The first took place April 24.The members, hoAvever, insisted upon takingthe car instead of Avalking. The afternoon wasspent in the country gathering floAvers and in-cidently botany specimens. The pleasures offloAver hunting Avere enhanced by a bountifulsupply of delicious sandwiches, not one ofAvhich remained to tell the tale. FloAver hunting, hoAvever, in spite of numerous snakeholes proved too tame for the boys, Avho created excitement Avith these primitive, but forceful Aveapons, namely pop-guns.THE K.A.N. CLUB.The K. A. N. Literary Club Avas organizedby the colored male students of the IndianaState Normal at the beginning of the fall term1912, for the purpose of literary development,and race study, and to keep in touch with thedoings of colored students of nearby colleges.Since the organization Avas effected a much better social relation has been established amongits members and a deeper appreciation of thestruggles in overcoming the many unpleasantconditions of the race has been effected. Theclub has constantly kept before it the theoriesof such men as Armstrong, DuBois, and Washington, and valuable educational stimulus hasbeen receiA-ed from such ideals.A month ago the club organized a baseballteam, Avhich is at the present Avorking fairlyAvell. The team will gladly accept challengesfrom any amateurs. Our debating force is noless eager to cross SAvords Avith an opposingteam than our baseball artists. Our meetingsare always interesting, and Ave extend a cordialinvitation to anyone Avho desires to visit us.The K. A. N.
