122THE NORMAL ADVANCElarger in volume. Many new features will beadded which will enhance the permanent valueof the book to its possessor. In the last number of The Advance we madethe statement that other schools publish andsell a book of the same style and quality or lessfor from $2.00 to $3.00 each, and we repeat it.Another year and the price of our Annualwill likewise be raised, for it will be impossibleto pay the cost of publishing it at the presentprice. Thus this opportunity will not passyour way again.C. N. C. at Danville, Indiana, has very recently taken definite action, and will publishits first Annual in the spring. Likewise, eachand every college and university in the state, with but one or two exceptions, will publish itsAnnual. Even many high schools do thissame thing. Shortridge High School does. The little Oaktown High School in Knoxcounty, with only forty students enrolled, putsout a book each year which would be a creditto many an institution of higher learning. Itwould be a shame if our great Indiana StateNormal, which supplies teachers, college professors, and now and then a college presidentto other institutions of learning throughout theland, should let a little township high schoolteach it a lesson in Annuals. It must not be! AVe must put .out a bookworthy of the school and which the school willbe proud to own. AAre cannot see how anyonecan fail to be interested and enthusiastic aboutthe matter. AATe cannot see how anyone whowishes our school to stand in the front ranks inevery respect, can neglect to aid the enterprise.Let your good wishes and encouragement beof a practical character. All the moral support in the world could not make it a successunless backed by a practical demonstration inthe form of subscriptions. And the greater thesubscription list, the better will be the book. And your subscription is the one we want mostof all.Stem* of 3nterestRECITAL.f~\ N the evening of February 12, under the^^ auspices of the Womans League, a recital was given.
