The fact is thatit is an important movement, advocating asit does one of the most burning public questions before the American people today. We,as students in a great state institution, whoexpect to go out over the state to instruct thefuture citizens of America, surely ought tohave convictions on this subject, and be ableto back them up with sound argument
andit is to be hoped that the best of judgmentwill govern all actions of the student bodyconcerning this league. The Advance has two new engravings, which it wishes to asknowledge. Miss LareneDavies furnished the suggestion for the coverdesign and Mr. Ben. Davis designed the cutfor the athletic department.TO all who toil, to all who strive, to allwho aspire to better things, we give oursincere wishes for a joyful Christmas and aNew Year of hope.Since the publication of the last issue twomembers of the editorial staff have resigned toaccept schools. Miss Margaret Hardie, oneof the local and alumni editors accepted a.position in the Marion schools, and Mr. LeeHarshman went to Ridgeville, his home, wherea position was awaiting him. The Advanceregrets to part with them, but wishes them thebest of success in their new work.Women are entitled to life, liberty and thepursuit of man.—Anon.Last but not least is the matter of money. The Advance like all mortals, is in need ofmoney. It is urgently requested that all subscription pledges be paid this week. Thepaper relies almost wholly upon the studentsfor its support, and, so far, it has not beendisappointed. The editors appreciate this andhope that all who have not yet paid theirpledges will do so at once. Fowler, Carnahanor Shields will be glad to accommodate youat any time.
