U.Miss Coleman, of the History department,was the guest of the Delta Gamma Sorority atBloomington, May 15.Miss Lena Wilson spent May 22 at her homein Lafayette.The Misses Blanche Sleeth and May Groffspent Sunday, May 16, at the home of MissGrace Miller in Brazil.Miss Ida Stallings of the Mathematics department, attended the commencement exercisesof the Toronto high school, May 8.Miss Sue Jaques visited her parents andfriends in Thorntown, May 15.Professors Bogardus, Curry and Muttererand Dr. Schlicher spent May 15 at the Shadesof Death.The training school teachers visited the training schools of the Eastern Illinois State Normal at Charleston, May 1.Miss Catherine Price attended the commencement exercises of the Shelbyville high school,May 20.Miss Grace Kenner spent Sunday, May 9, ather home near Rushville.Prof. Higgins visited Franklin College, May22.Miss Mary Grace and Mr. Jacob Shoemakerhave withdrawn from school on account of illness.Miss Nellie Wolfe, who has been seriously ill,is convalescent.The Misses Alice Kelsey and Mildred Butlerattended the Phi Kappa dance at I. U, May 1.Professor Thompson, who has been ill sincethe first of the term, is abie to be around. Comfort, Providence, Niagara Falls, andother eastern points of interest.Mr. Charles Hertenstein, 08, superintendentof schools at Amo, was present at the oratoricalcontest, May 7.Mr. Guy Speeker, 07, visited old I. S. N.friends, May 21.Mr. Fred Spencer, 08, called on us May 3,wThile on his way to Henderson, Ky., where hehas a position for the summer with the Scarborough Co., of Indianapolis.Mr. Frederick M. Lindley, of the CollegeCourse, withdrew7 from school May 8, andjoined the U S. Navy.The Visiting Board, composed of Dr. Kelley,Earlham College, Mr. S. M. Keltner, of Anderson, and Superintendent Llaines, of Hamilton,Co., inspected the work and buildings at I. S.N. May 13. All three made short addresses inchapel which were highly entertaining andmuch appreciated by the students. |
