A.The students of the State Normal School certainly have had great opportunities this termto enlarge and enrich their minds in the studyof the Bible.First of all Dr. Coulter gave a very excellentand helpful address. Next Miss Ethel Cutler,the National Bible Study Secretary of Y. W.C. A. conducted a Bible Study Institute beginning February 6. She gave five excellent addresses on St. Johns Gospel.Beginning on February 8, Mr. Neil McMillan, Jr., Bible Study Chairman of the International Committee Y. M. C. A., gave a seriesof three addresses on Bible Study. Severalnew members have been added to the BibleStudy classes. New classes will be formed tosuit the convenience of those desiring to takeup the work.President Parsons has engaged Dr. ShalerMathews of Chicago University to address theY. M. C. A. and Y. W. C. A. May 10.A very large number of positions are openat the present in the foreign fields. Teachersand Christian Workers are in demand fornearly all of the foreign countries. Many ofthese positions pay well. The InternationalCommittee of the Y. M. C. A. will gladly furnish information regarding any or all of thesepositions.February 14 was appointed as a UniversalDay of Prayer for students by the WorldsStudent Christian Federation.Y. W. C. A.Interest and attendance in the Y. W. C. A.meetings has been steadily growing at boththe Tuesday evening and the Sunday afternoonmeetings.After the meeting of February 14 no Sunday afternoon meetings will be held, but thoseheld on Tuesday evening will be continued until the end of the term.The Bible Institute held February 5 to 8, byMiss Ethel Cutler, the National Bible StudySecretary of the Y. W. C. A., proved very interesting and valuable to those who attended.The Associations feel especially favored inbeing able to secure Miss Cutlers services.Miss Cutlers subject for the institute was,The Witness of the Beloved Disciple of Jesus,as found in the Book of John. The Claims of the MessiahSun..................That Ye May Have LifeAn informal reception was given by the Y.W. C- A. in honor of Miss Cutler Friday afternoon in the Literary Rooms.Miss Marjorie Melcher, State Secretary ofthe Y. W. C. A. was also here during MissCutlers visit.Miss Cutler and Miss Melcher met with theY. W. C. A. cabinet Saturday morning at 11oclock after which the cabinet and secretariestook luncheon with Miss Lovett at the Association House. A very helpful and pleasanttime was reported by all.The Y. M. C. A. and Y. W. C. A. entertainedthe advisory boards and visiting secretaries attea Monday evening, February 8, at the cityassociation, where the problems of the associations were discussed. The associations werevery fortunate in having with them at thistime five visiting secretaries, namely, Neil McMillan, International Bible Study Secretaryof the Y. M. C. A. Miss Ethel Cutler, NationalBible Study Secretary, of the Y. W. C. A. E.Jaqua and Miss Marjorie Melcher, State Secretaries and Miss Landis, State Secretary ofMichigan.
