S. N. The spring term brought in thelargest enrollment in our history, 1,851 students being in school. The total attendance ofdifferent students in the Normal school properfor the year ending September 30, was 3,049.Including the training schools, 3,292 differentstudents were in attendance, an increase of 769over 1907. The spring also introduced thefirst special term for high school graduates. Then there have been several changes in theFaculty. Prof. Lynch, Miss Minturn, and MissHamilton are the new members in the Facultyproper, while in the Training Schools, Mr.Woodrow, Miss Montgomery and Miss Woody, are new. Miss Leila Parr and Miss Currywithdrew in August, from the Normal SchoolFaculty, and Miss Kate Moran from theTraining School. The Training School alsolost one of its teachers in the death of MissAlma Beste in August. The graduating class of 1908 was the largestin the history of I. S. N. over, 130 students receiving their certificates. Of these, four alsohad the degree of A. B. conferred upon them,as the first class to graduate from our collegecourse. Present conditions indicate that therewill be about ten college graduates next springand as large, if not larger class, from theNormal School proper, than in 1908.June, 1908, saw the completion of the firstyear of college work at I. S. N., and the firstyear in which high school work was offered tothe practice students, that they might acquiresome experience in the government and properteaching in high school. With the introductionof the high school and the college course, itis now possible for a child to begin his schoollife in the grades, and continue it until he receives his degree. In other words, sixteen consecutive years of educational training can nowbe had at I. S. N.The new library is slowly nearing completion, but much has been done since last springwhen only the excavation had been made. Nowthe last of the stone work is being done, butit is hardly probable that it will be completedin time to be used by next spring. It is alsohoped that we may have a new science andmanual training building before long, as specifications and plans have already been drawnwhich will be presented at the next meeting ofthe State Legislature. All in all, the year 1908 has showered itsblessings on I. S. N., and will ever go downas one of the most prosperous in the history ofour great school.Hurrah for the Seniors of 1908. They haveduplicated the feat of the class of 1908 in winning all their inter-class games in basket-ball.Will they now wear the cap and gown ?
