The following were elected:President—Miss Eose Duenweg.Vice President—Miss Lena Swope.Treasurer—Miss Blanche Wolverton,Secretary—Miss Euth Kelly.On the evening of June 6 the League gave a reception to the senior members and patronesses inthe Association and Literary rooms.The guests were gallantly escorted to and fromthe reception by the undergraduate members, whowere solicitous throughout the evening in rendering every attention necessary to the comfort andpleasure of the guests.The rooms were decorated with asparagus andhuge bunches of daisies. Music rendered by theBreinig orchestra was a feature of the- entertainment. After refreshments were served, theguests departed, unanimously pronouncing thisfinal reception one of the most pleasant social affairs of the year.ALPHA.On Friday, May 29, the Alphas took their suppers to Collett Park and the affair proved to be oneof the most delightful picnics given by the Chapter this year. The girls went out on the fiveoclock car with baskets of good things to eat andspread the cloth beneath the trees. ■ A uniquecenter piece made of Mrs. Currys famous cracker-jack, adorned the table, at which the members wereseated according to a prearranged plan. Earlyafter supper the guests returned to the city, sincesome present were on the program at Miss Parrsconcert.Misses Eobinson, Peters, and Moran, patronesses of the Honorary Section, entertained Tuesday, June 16, with a six oclock dinner at the NewFilbeck. The table was spread in the large diningroom and decorated with smilax and sweet peas.The favors were sweet peas and the place cardswere decorated with the same flower. The following members were present: Misses Loeb,Splacly, Flinn, Wurster, Planett, Longman,Strang, Voges, Beal, Vickroy, Brown, Lammers,Nicholson, Grover, Duenweg, Griffith, Schmidt,Locke, Neph, Bader, Dawson. Miss Jacques wasan out of town guest.FOEUM.This group of young men is the only society in the school organized for the purpose ofacquiring as much as possible that degree of proficiency in the art of oratory and debating that willenable them to address an audience in a mannerworthy of their profession. Throughout thegreater part of the year the Forum has devoted itself exclusively to debating and oratory. On May11 a banquet and a symposium on The AmericanWoman, was given. On June 8 the membersbade each other farewell after indulging in another banquet.All who have been members are of the opinionthat they have been benefited in the way of publicspeaking, ft is to be regretted that all the youngmen of the school do not appreciate the fact thatthey need practice in public speaking. In thewords of Emerson, They may have excellentgoods in their store, but they need a show windowin which to exhibit them. Many students feelthat the Faculty should organize literary and debating societies, offer inducements in the way ofcredits, and require all to engage in the work.The I. S. N. could thus send forth men who coulddefend and stand for its cause, advocate its idea,and increase its power in the State.Y. W. C. A.The past year has been a very prosperous andprofitable one for the Y. W. 0. A. During thefirst two terms, about seventy-five members were
