Description: |
Stephanie Simermans transcribed variant of the Vanishing Hitchhiker urban legend as collected by Josh Simerman. In this account, a cab driver picks up a woman who says that her mother is going to die unless she warns her. The man is startled and turns to talk to the woman, but she has disappeared and left nothing but her jacket behind. The man finds a business card in the jacket and calls the girls mother, who explains that her daughter has been dead for some time. Moments later, the man hears a crash and the line goes dead. He finds out later the mother worked in the World Trade Center and died in the terrorist attacks. |
