Susan Hays transcribed variant of the Vanishing Hitchhiker urban legend as collected by Jacque Burbank. In this account, a boy picks up a girl who is walking in the snow on the way to a school dance and offers her his jacket. After the dance, he takes her home but returns the next day to retrieve his jacket from her. The girls mother informs the boy that the girl has been dead for five years, and he discovers his jacket lying across her grave. |
