| Description: |
Letter to Theodore Debs, 10/12/1936. Says that Communists have been infiltrating the American Labor Party. Writes that while not everyone agrees with the Social Democratic Federations affiliation with the American Labor Party and he is more and more convinced that it was the right decision. Assures Theodore Debs that it is in socialists best interest to support organized labor in building up an independent labor party even if it means supporting Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the process. Says that because there is a clear cleavage in national politics since 1896 supporting Franklin Delano Roosevelt might not be such a bad thing. Remarks that the Socialist Party will soon belong to history. |
