Description: Letter to Theodore Debs, 9/2/1920. Writes that he came close to getting Eugene V. Debs released by working through the Department of Justice but that he was told, as Mother Jones says, that the socialists, themselves, alone prevent Eugene V. Debs from getting out of prison. Tells Theodore Debs that Eugene V. Debss freedom is more important than a little public notoriety.
