Letter to Theodore Debs on Lindlahr Health Resort letterhead, 07/25/1922. Says that he has a continue stream of visitors who come to see him. Writes that 20 came on Sunday, 12 on Monday, and that he has already had 6 or 7 today including W. E. Burns, Mrs. John Lloyd, among others. Informs Theodore Debs that he met with none of them. Tells Theodore Debs that the doctor has posted notices that no one can see Eugene V. Debs. Discusses the outrage he felt when he read in a newspaper that he was to be a speaker at a picnic after he had refused to do it. Writes that he expressed his indignation in a letter to J. Mahlon Barnes who tried to convince him to change his mind. |
