Description: |
Thrill, ca.1935 [2 pages] On my recent flight from Hawaii, I had been so busy with my motor, fuel supply, instruments and radio that I had given no thought to myself or the world around me. When the moon set about midnight, ... my senses became aware objectively. I saw that there seemed to be stars beneath me! I knew that it was an illusion, yet it was real. I seemed to be peering over the edge of the black ocean -- peering at the stardrift from below ... Like all women, I was reared in a tradition of the inferiority of my sex...And so I thrill because I know that those who are afraid can be courageous, that those who are weak can be strong, that those who seek vision can open their eyes -- if they will! |
