Capturing a swarm of bees on the Arnold farm, Rushville, Indiana, circa 1903

Description: Two men attempt to capture a beehive that has swarmed at the Gothic Revival Arnold home near Rushville. The man on the ladder wears gloves and a protective face covering and holds a saw to remove a branch with a cluster of bees above his head. The other leans on a wooden box marked Century Baking of Indianapolis. Many of the photos in this collection (ia-0145-0001 through ia-0145-0094) were taken by John C. Arnold (1876-1927), amateur photographer, of Rushville.
