Description: Chairs and tables surround the dance floor under a barrell-vaulted ceiling decorated with paper lanterns. A Coca Cola sign hangs at the end. Captioned Rustic Tavern / Jasper Ind. / State Road 45-56. A NOKO stamp block is on the back of the real photo postcard.The Rustic Tavern, located three miles north of Jasper in a woods on State road 45-56, opened in July 1933. The dance hall, that also served as a roller skating rink, was originally operated by Hilbert Fritch and Cyril Toots Haller. It was later known as the Sportsman Club and the Legion Club Canteen.
