Portrait of Army Spanish-American War surgeon Dr. Frank Foxworthy, circa 1898

Description: Dr. Frank Foxworthy (1873-1939) was born in Kentland, Indiana, graduated from DePauw University in 1894 and the Indiana University School of Medicine, 1897-1898. He was a captain and surgeon in the US Army during the Spanish-American War, for which he was awarded a congressionall medal for gallantry in action in the Philippine Islands. He later was chief medical officer of the Indiana National Guard. He was a physician in Indianapolis from 1901 until 1925, when he removed to Miami, Florida.
