Jerry Bujwit (1946-2004) during his time as an Air Force maintenance specialist in Vietnam, c1969. The logo includes the Charles Schultz character Snoopy as the Red Baron atop his doghouse.The Chieu Hoi (Open Arms) program was an amnesty initiative which influenced the surrender of thousands of enemy soldiers. In addition, the unit carried out night combat operations against enemy forces through flare drops; it also performed search and rescue missions to locate and direct recovery forces finding downed airmen over enemy-controlled territory.Born in Hammond, Indiana, Bujwit moved to Indianapolis after returning from Vietnama and went on to teach at J Everett Light Career Center for 25 years.The picture is from a collection of photos of the Shockley family of Indianapolis taken primarily between 1940 and 1980.
