Time stamped August 1979. Stores seen include Dr. Scholls Foot Comfort, Arthur Murray Dance Studio Vita-Fair Drugs, Schick Service Center, a liquor shop, and Stationers Office Supply. The 1874 Second Empire style building was also known as the Bates Block and the When Store. The Ober family bought the building in 1946 and soon thereafter remodeled it by removing balconies and other architectural ornamentation. The building was razed in 1995 and replaced with a parking garage. Also visible are the Rialto Building, AFNB (American Fletcher National Bank) building, and Kittles. |
