Carved into the sign is Larry L. Ayers Memorial Trail half way rest return back to scout cabin then you will have completed the trail.According to a 2011 General Assemby Resolution, the Wabash Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America declared the Larry L. Ayers Memorial Trail on March 7, 1961. Ayers, an extraordinary scout, died at 17 in 1957. The trail, located in Sullivan County, mostly follows along Highway 48. The 2011 resolution celebrated the 50th anniversary of the trail and Troop 52 of Shelburn, Indiana for maintaing the trail. |
