The postcard was sent to Mrs. A. O. Dawson of Greentown, Indiana.Beyond the Greenfield Mills Church on the right is the three-story Greenfield Mills, located on the banks of the Fawn River at 10505 East 750 North, Howe, Indiana. A water-powered flour mill was first built on this site in the 1840s. It was operated by several generations of the Henry Rinkel family from 1904 until 2015 and they made New Wrinkle Flour (later New Rinkel Flour). As of 2019 all three buildings are extant. The church bell tower has been removed and the concrete block structure is used as a house (7480 North 1050 East). |
