Postcard of Public Comfort station, Indianapolis, Indiana, circa 1915

Description: View looking southwest on Kentucky Avenue at an underground public restroom or comfort station on Kentucky Avenue. It was constructed in 1910 in the Beaux Arts style. Signs seen in this postcard include Geile, 10 Cent Family Vaudeville Theatre, E & C Oats, and several taverns. The facilities for men and women were located at about 5 Kentucky Avenue at the intersection of W. Washington and S. Illinois Streets.
