Hooks Drug Store on Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis, Indiana, circa 1975

Description: Caption: Recognized by American Institute, History of Pharmacy, as one of the nations most authentic and important 19th century drug store restorations and pharmacy antique collections. Operated by Hook Drugs, Inc., an Indiana-only drug store chain (since 1900) of 130 plus units. Old fashioned candies, toiletries, and sundries (sodas, too!) on sale. Open seven days a week.Hooks Drugs opened Hooks Historical Drugstore on the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 1966. It was planned as a temporary exhibit, but its popularity during the State Fair drove Fair leaders and Hooks to keep it as a permanent exhibit.
