Slabtown Players posed next to train cars, Homer, Indiana, 1976

Description: High school students, who were part of the Slabtown Players, a local theater troupe, posed next to some train cars. The troupe was organized by Marcia Blair. The students gathered in a camp each summer and put on a series of skits written by Mrs. Blair. Slabtown is the former name of the village of Homer. The young people performed their skits on a stage in a barn in Homer. The young men slept in some permanently-parked train cars near the business district and the young women slept in a nearby barn or in the basement of the Homer Federated Church.
