Caption: Dr. William D. Hutchings Office and Hospital. Built in 1847 in the simplest Classic Style; restored 1973 by Historic Madison, Inc. Outstanding example of a typical Horse-and-Buggy doctors office of the 19th Century. From 1880 until 1899, Dr. Hutchings Office served as the only hospital in the valley. Open to the public from May 1 to Nov. 1, and by appointment.See ia-0001-2683 for an image of the surgery and examination room. |
