Lawson (1873-1940) and his wife Ida May Rummel (1884-1973) lived at and operated this grocery in the late 1910s and early 1920s. The address of the store in the 1920 census is 937 North Alabama Street, and the house in north of Puryear Street is 939 North Alabama Street. The boys are the correct ages to be their youngest sons Malcolm James Bill Lawson (1908-1967) and Robert Henry Lawson (1915-1979). By Jan. 1922 Lawsons Grocery was not at this location.
