Deiser building and commercial street, Bippus, Indiana, circa 1910

Description: Real photo postcard of Bippus of a commercial building, houses, and other buildings along a dirt road. A horse-drawn cart is parked in front of a dilapidated wood frame building. A gas street lamp is on the corner.The two-story brick structure has a datestone reading Deiser / 1897. The Huntington Daily News-Democrat stated on October 14, 1897, p. 8 that Peter Deiser of Bippus is building a large brick store room. On January 4, 1898 the paper reported that Deiser has moved his stock of groceries into his new building. Another copy of this postcard was postmarked 1911.
