This is the lower row of houses that make up part of Swiss Terrace. These houses were north of Grape Arbor and north of the Auditorium. The Ninth Street Hill did not exist at this time.Swiss Terrace. The words Swiss Terrace are used to describe three different areas of Winona Lake. Some call the entire area that rims the park from the Winona Hotel to the Ninth Street, Swiss Terrance. Others narrow Swiss Terrace to the area from the Beyer Home to Ninth Street. That area is bounded by Terrace Drive and Chestnut Street bisected by a sidewalk. Then there is small hotel located on Terrace Drive which was named the Swiss Terrace and it included a dining area. The Swiss Terrace Hotel, while no longer a hotel, is still standing. It was built in 1900.
