Back: Message reads, Baldwin Cottage - Winona Lake, Aug. 13, 1915. I surely am having one good time - This is a beautiful place. It doesnt seem possible that our six weeks will soon be up - Chautaqua been going on all the time we been here and have certainly heard some good things - Sat. Madame Schimam Heink will be here - Hellen Keller was here last week - Pallarias and Creatores bands were great - Going to hear all these things and my music keeps me pretty busy - Have been taking quite a few pictures, I am, Sincerely Effie Lois B. This young lady gives us a rare view of the interior of the Grotto Fountain in Winona Lake, Indiana. She says she is staying at the Baldwin Cottage . At the Chatauqua this week was Helen Keller (the famous blind lady), Madame Schuman Heink (the opera singer), Francesco Pallaria and His Band and Creatores Italian Band. |
