Rodeheaver gained most of his fortune as an astute businessman and music publisher. He was a gracious entertainer. His home was on the southwest end of the island in Winona Lake. The house has been described as a remodeled farm house rebuilt in 1912 to resemble a boat complete with railings along the flat roof. At one time the house featured a sliding board from the second level to the lake. Rodeheaver died in 1955 and the home was occupied by his sister Ruth and her husband Jim Thomas until their deaths.
