Rainbow Plane Wreck 1921

The aircraft described as a old style Curtiss had been brought to Winona in July and was painted to advertise Rainbow Records a company owned by Homer Rodeheaver. Homers half-brother Jack was on board as well as the pilot Lynn D. Merrill. The plane had taken many people for rides since its arrival. The crash occured in an area north of the Pennsylvania Railroad tracks and east of Dalton Foundries. Corn stalks can be seen at the crash site. The crash occured on Thursday, August 25, 1921.
