Friend Corwin:- Am seated near the picture you see on the other side and only a short distance form Winona Lake. Wish you were with me, as Im all about and feel rather lonesome, altho this is certainly a beautiful place. I will answer your letter soon and tell you the whys and wherefores. I have you letter with me now, but its too soon to answer it as I just recd it [...] look well Tuesday night Ha! Ha! (Toh). Friday night is Venetian Night or the Lake on fire. They say it is beautiful. There is something done all the time. I have the afternoon to spend at my own leisure but am busy in the forenoons with school work. Bye bye. A city kid I now. The Dukes Fountain was one of the most recognized fountains at Winona Lake. The fountain was located in the area between the Winona Hotel and the Billy Sunday Tabernacle. It was a gift of the A. N. Dukes of Peru, Indiana. Dukes was on the Winona Assemblys Board of Directors. He was president of Indiana Manufacturing Co. located in Peru, Indiana. The present day Hospital in Peru, Indiana bears his name as well.
