Upside-down script at top right reads, Our address: The Inn - Winona Lake, Indiana. Addressed to, Mr. John B. Cam, Camp Adventure, Epworth Forrest, North Webster, Indiana. The Winona Queen docked near the downtown business district. The old swimming pier in front of the Winona Hotel can be seen in the background.The Winona Queen was locally built (details unknown). It was of mostly made of wood. It had a flat bottom and two decks. It was powered by a Ford flathead V-8 engine with the power transfered via a drive shaft to a Ford automobile rear end attached to a paddle wheel. It was used for over twenty years and took tens of thousands of passengers on a tour around the lake. |
