Description: |
Adults and children walk along a path at Fairview Park. The park was electrically lit and visitors could see the animals on display including swans, deer, peacocks, and cows. Another attraction was the electric fountain, which operated several evenings a week. A May 10, 1891, article in the Indianapolis Journal describes the fountain as a prismatic fountain. At a touch five great columns of water and innumerable jets of crystal leap into the air, flashing globules, glittering like rare gems from the Orient. |
