This black and white photograph shows the southern or view of Burgess Hall. Opening in 1890, the three story building was constructed of brick and stone with terra cotta trim. To the right of the building, you can view the bell tower of the Main or Administration Building. On the left side of Burgess Hall, you can see the chimney from the combined Engine House and Gymnasium, which housed the boilers and electric generators that powered the heating and lighting for the campus. |
