Description: |
People are lined up outside of the Garden House in Holcomb Gardens, while others sit on chairs near the house. Although Holcomb Gardens opened in 1950, the Garden House was not completed until 1952. Donated by J. I. Holcomb, the structure was built to house a meeting room, kitchenette, and public restrooms. The building was constructed of limestone and cypress. The space has been used for Butler University events, as classroom space, and rented out as an event space for meetings, wedding receptions, and other activities. This photograph appears to highlight one such event at the Garden House and cropping marks are located along the edges of the photograph. |
