Construction work in Jordan Hall

Description: Construction work is underway in Jordan Hall. The photograph was likely taken during Jordan Hall renovations that occurred in the mid-1980s. At that time, the ceiling heights were lowered in order to reduce heating and cooling costs, new drywall and insulation were added, new floor coverings were installed in hallways and classrooms to reduce noise, and ramps for handicapped access were added. This photograph might show the construction of an elevator shaft in Jordan Hall. An elevator was added to the west wing of the building in 1985.
