Description: |
Cars are parked along Clarendon Road on the east side of Jordan Hall. In the early 1990s Clarendon Road and parking spaces were removed from this area of campus and were replaced with landscaping, creating a pedestrian friendly space. The 1991 issue of the Drift, Butler Universitys yearbook, states that the decision to remove the parking and turn the space into a landscaped, pedestrian mall, was met with controversy (pp. 6-8). However, today, large numbers of Butler students, faculty, and staff take advantage of the space during good weather. |
