Southwest section of Jordan Hall

Description: This photograph highlights Jordan Hall as viewed from the southwest side of the building. Construction started in September 1926, and when Jordan Hall opened on September 17, 1928, it was the only academic building on Butler Universitys Fairview campus. It contained 54 classrooms, a science lecture hall that could seat 240 students, as well as other lecture halls for 150 to 200 students. The west wing housed the library, with a reading room on the first floor and book stacks in the basement, as well as the College of Religion.
