Description: It Wasn’t Easy . . . Conception,In 1961, the Indiana State Legislature passed abill “for the construction of the University HighSchool of Bloomington, Indiana, to be located onthe Bloomington Bypass just southeast of thatcity.” It was to be an Indiana University operatedproject at a cost of not less than five million dollars, a beautiful building, one-story, and built witha capacity for 2,000 students. Ever since the passageof that bill, almost all lunchtime discussions hingedaround the new building and its occupancy.
