Under thesupervision of Mr. Barkes, we seventh graders participated in quizzes,debates, dramatizations, and informal discussions on the topics: personalappearance, behavior in public places, and the choice of a vocation. AHalloween party and a Christmas frolic kept our social life buzzing the firstsemester.7AWe 7A’s entertained at convocation and at the Social Science Conference with our choral reading of such poems as The Night Wind”,America for Me”, 0 Captain, My Captain”, I Am an American”, TheFlag Goes By”, and Young Fellow, My Lad”. Many of the studentshad solo parts in these readings.We are like “Old Man River”—we just keep rolling along, hopingour time will come for a place in the sun. |
