Description: Most published’ writers join Quill and ScrollBarbara McCrea, JORDANNUSeditor-in-chief, and her staff werepicked early last spring from applications from all interested students. In the fall, JORDANNUS promotion began with an exciting convocation, An Afternoon with theArts,” directed by Christie Dickasonand her committee, Ralph Seifert,Ann Burton, and Steve Clark. Theassembly featured a short, one-actplay adapted by Ralph about the invasion of the Martians with theirfabulous I.Q. depressor”; a burlesque Swan Lake” ballet, starringCammie Adams, Dan Scarboroughand the corps de ballet-, and an orchestral number mis-arranged by TedVaughan and Ralph, and misplayedby P. T. Buntin, Martin Bidney,Amy and Andy Hazelrigg, Bob Ap-pelman and Jan Murray. Meetingmonthly engraving and printingdeadlines, the staff works all year, finishing with a rapid flurry ofwriting and typing around the finaldeadline, March 15. Spring sportshots are scheduled the day that theheaviest snow of the year falls; optimistic headlines are written aboutteams which have done nothing except schedule games. The editor andthe advisor puzzle over the highermath required in proportioning pictures to the right size, the copy editor searches relentlessly through theThesaurus, and the business manageranxiously watched the increasing expenditures and the diminishing receipts.QUILL AND SCROLL — First row: MargaretHoff, Ann Burton, Susie Pinkston.
