The class of 1954worked hard to make this hook a story of theactivities of the year.The staff was elected and selected during thejunior year. Two members, Beverly Riggs andJudy Figg, took two weeks off during the summer vacation and attended the Journalism Institute at Indiana University. Here the themewas selected and the first “dummy” completed.Work on the book started the first day ofschool with full use being made of the presscamera purchased last year. Three outsidephotographers took the formal pictures butmost of the pictures were taken by the staffphotographers.Excitement was created over the selection ofthe cover. Several companies were contactedand the best design was finally chosen at oneof the several meetings at the Figg’s residence.As the deadline approached staff membersspent more time in Room 317 than they did athome. Three student teachers, HerbertMichelson, Miss Doris Webster, and Mrs. Janice Custer, assisted in many ways and sharedtheir past experiences from other schools.The staff hopes that through this book, theClass of 1954 will be remembered.Page fifty-two
