■■■IfEating is a pastime everyone enjoys, and the speakers table atthe Junior-Senior Banquet last year was a good place to indulgein this.“Stick ’em up!” says Margie Rash to EstherIrwin and Jim Carter, as the three let downtheir hair during the infamous Senior Tramp Day.Every class that enters school, nomatter when, likes to believe that itwill he one of the most outstandingclasses to graduate from the AlmaMater. With our heads tilted a degreehigher than ever before, we enteredschool our freshman year, hoping thatwe would accomplish this feat. As weleave these familiar halls and go outinto the world, we, the class of ’54,believe we have reached our goal. Our hopes began when we enteredhigh school, trembling in our boots, but determined to make good. Asfreshmen we started off in high stylewith our dance, “Club ’54,” and foundthat we had established a reputationwhich could be upheld only throughgood hard work.Outlining the many activities of the seniorsare their four officers: John Poling, vice-president; Virginia Trumpy, secretary; Bob Edwards, treasurer, and Blaine Johnson, president. Theofficers are responsible for guiding the classthrough the complex graduation procedures, andthey are helped by the sponsors, Miss DottyLackey, John Schrodt and Robert Vollmar.yjuzPage twenty-nine |
