Description: FEBRUARYWith February came the close of the basketball season, and the Univees finished withan excellent 13-7 record. However, basketball was not completely over, for the highly-anticipated sectional tourney was soon tobegin. For the purpose of boosting the teamto victory, a Booster Club was organized bythe Art Club and GAA. Members traveledto the tourney at Martinsville, where theysat in a uniform cheering block, wearingwhite sweaters, skirts, or blouses and sporting Booster Club pins. Megaphones and redand white shakers were also given to themembers of the club.Applications for staff positions on the ’54Jordannus were turned in by members ofthe Junior class early in the month. Thestaff was then chosen by Judy Figg, previously-elected Editor-in-Chief, and JohnSchrodt, adviser. Meanwhile, members of the’5 3 Jordannus staff were working industriously in order to meet their printingdeadline. Members of the JordanJesters were kept busy working on theirplay production of Thornton Wilder’s OurTown”During the early part of March, candidates were chosen for three of U-School’shonorary organizations—The National Thespian Society, Quill and Scroll, and The National Honor Society.Not only were play rehearsals carried onduring the month of March, but also JuniorCarnival rehearsals. April in Paris” wasselected by the class to be the theme of thisgala occasion. Determined to make this year’scarnival the best ever,” the Juniors rolledup their sleeves and plunged into work onthe production to be given in April.Members of the Jordan Jester Club look over thescript of Our Town” with A.
