Description: |
SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTSWe, the Class of ’46, have been witness to the following achievements accomplished during our high school career; and we believeeach one has contributed to a better school. In 1944 six students entered the Commercial Contest at CentralNormal College, Danville, Indiana. The same students also enteredthe Commercial Contest at Indiana State Teacher’s College, TerreHaute, Indiana. James Fritch, Betty Wampler, Mary Jean Richardson,Bonnie Wilber, E. Joanne Richardson, and Thomas Hardy were thecontestants.Side walks were constructed in front of the school building. The Class of ’44 built the forms and poured the ready mix cement. These walks were a big help in keeping the building clean. Trees, together with roses and grass, were planted and have given our frontlawn a homelike appearance. Each class had a tree to claim as itsown.A new bell system was installed which can be heard all overthe building. A new bell clock and bell in the gym will be installedas soon as possible. The sale of cold beverages gave much enjoyment to the studentsand prevented the small children from crossing the highway. Drinks, also sold at basketball games, afforded enjoyment for students andcommunity alike. |
