Freshmen-Sophomore Initiation PartyNow, listen, my people, and you shall hear of the hearty welcome the Sophomores gave the Freshmen. C. Joan Richardson actedas mistress of ceremonies, and a number of paddles carelessly handled by the Sophomore boys served as effective persuaders to thetimid. Many famous lovers were there. Some of them were: Martha and George Washington, (Norma Galyan and Mr. Weathers), Popeye and Olive Oyl, (Raymond Riddle and Bonnie Galyan), Max andLillie, (Everett Allen Kerr and Mary Russ). Among the other celebrities were Betty Grable and Harry James, Robert Taylor andBarbara Stanwick, Jiggs and Maggie, and Romeo and Juliet.Everett Allen Kerr had the pleasure of combing Mary Russ’shair and also helped Arda Richardson eat some nice juicy lemons.Snow White (Mary Young) willed away all of her possessions. Mr.Weathers and Norma Galyan ate some pepper sandwiches. We alsohad some wolverines in the crowd. Children, beware of Lucille Powers and Jean Wampler! Bonnie Galyan and Raymond Riddle turnedout to be very good acrobats. Let’s see you do the back bend, Raymond. Buddie Richardson seemed to like those fat, juicy wormswhich Mrs. Powers fed to him. Miss Young and Buddie Richardsonweren’t a bit shy about drinking their mug of beer. Norma Linci-come and Bill Richardson returned to the infant stage of life and tooktheir milk out of a bottle with the nipple on it. Jimmie Long got verybrave and in the presence of everyone asked Audrey West to marryhim. Fast work, Audrey. Raymond Riddle got his nails polished--maybe I should say fingers polished--by Dolly Pelley. To finishthings up the Sophomores took the Freshmen girls through the paddlingmachine and shocked the Freshmen boys--by electricity. |
